Organization & CommittEes

When fully established, the University will be governed by a Board of Trustees. The first cohort of Trustees will be appointed by the AUW International Support Committee. The Board of Trustees will be self-perpetuating and independent.
The principal planning and development arm of the University is the Asian University for Women Support Foundation (AUWSF), incorporated as a non-profit organization based in the United States. The Foundation is responsible for mobilizing organizational, financial and intellectual resources across the world to help establish the University. The Foundation will also be responsible for raising and maintaining the University's endowment. The AUW Support Foundation is guided in its day-to-day operations by a committed Board of Directors.
The International Support Committee is a group of eminent citizens and notable personalities who serve as global advocates for broad support of the University’s mission and objectives. The Committee, comprised of public and private sector leaders from across the world, is also responsible for appointing the first Board of Trustees for the University.
National and Regional Support Committees have been established or are in the process of being established in a range of Asian countries, including India, Nepal, Pakistan, and the Philippines.
The Committees will serve a variety of purposes. Those groups, based in the University's target countries, will help recruit students and faculty, cultivate internship and career opportunities for students, mobilize financial support for students, assist with the transition of students back into their countries following graduation, and provide guidance on trends that relate to the University's work. Support committees in Japan, Australia, Europe and the United States and Canada will have the primary responsibility for resource development, and will also assist with the cultivation of institutional partnerships, as appropriate.
