Year-long Teach Abroad Fellowship
The Asian University for Women (AUW), located in Chittagong, Bangladesh, is seeking motivated individuals with excellent academic records and strong extra-curricular activities to serve for a one year teaching fellowship beginning on August 1, 2012. A job teaching abroad at AUW is a chance to truly immerse yourself in a new culture, build friendships that will last a lifetime, discover your own potential, and help shape future women leaders.
The AUW Teaching Fellows will serve as teachers of composition, grammar, critical learning, mathematics, and computers at AUW's flagship Access Academy -- a one-year preparatory program for students requiring further training in English, Math and general learning skills prior to matriculation into the undergraduate program.
AUW Teaching Fellows will also staff the Writing Center and assist in general training toward the advancement of writing by AUW students for whom English is second or third language. AUW Teaching Fellows, on a case by case basis, may also assist undergraduate faculty as teaching assistants if there subject areas of prior training coincide with the focus of the courses offered. Currently, AUW offers majors in Asian Studies; Politics, Philosophy, & Economics; Computer Sciences; Environmental Sciences; and Public Health.
Program Details:
AUW teaching fellowships are for a one-year period, renewable by mutual consent. AUW Teaching Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of US $300, free (shared) housing, meals at the AUW cafeteria, free local transportation to and from the University, and health insurance. AUW Teaching Fellows are also provided with one round-trip air ticket from New York City to Chittagong, Bangladesh in the most direct and economic route.
