Assuring Integrity
The Asian University for Women aims to serve as a role model for assuring integrity. The University takes seriously its commitment to creating clear, equitable and just policies for both its construction and its operation. We believe in absolute integrity, financial transparency, and accountability.
The AUW Support Foundation has taken a series of steps to help maintain financial integrity and accountability of project funds:
- We have developed an internal Integrity and Accountability Policy that complies with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and establishes zero tolerance for corruption
- Bangladesh’s leading and internationally most respected non-governmental organization, BRAC, will serve as the internal auditor of the project
- Transparency International, a global civil society organization leading the fight against corruption has agreed to act as AUW’s third party watch-dog and independent monitor
- The AUW Support Foundation is appointing an ombudsman who will report directly to the Board of Directors and will receive and address any complaints of financial misdoing from anonymous or other sources.
In keeping with these measures and policy guidelines, AUW maintains this section of the website to publicly disclose information relating to all aspects of the University’s development and operations. Accordingly, we make available here such items as financial audits, contracts, and other important documents.
